Springfield Echelon 4.0FC Adopted by Spanish National Police

The Springfield Echelon 4.0FC 9mm is now the issued pistol for uniformed officers of Spain's National Police, Springfield Armory announced October 28, 2026. The 4.0FC pairs a full-size 17- or 20-round grip with a compact 4-inch slide. Springfield says it beat pistols from many international makers in testing that covered accuracy, drops, barrel obstructions, parts interchangeability and temperatures from -4 to 122 degrees F. Testers also liked that the serialized steel chassis moves between grip modules for compact setups.
